Forty Buried When Building Collapse

Associated Press.

Lemberg, Poland, June 6.--Over forty persons were buried in the debris and many were killed when two ancient three-story buildings collapsed today. The structures are believed to have been shaken down by vibrations from a passing motor truck.

Building Collapse Fatal to Workers

ARLINGTON, Va., June 6. -- Part of an office building under construction at the multimillion dollar Crystal City apartment office complex collapsed today. Police said several construction workers were killed and 20 others were trapped.

"Several men are dead, but we don't know how many yet," a police spokesman said.

Officials said 20 were trapped in the rubble. Ambulances and rescue equipment were rushed to the scene.

The complex of 12-story apartment and office buildings is located on U.S. 1 about half a mile from the 14th Street Bridge over the Potomac between Arlington County, Va. and Washington, D.C.
